Especially at Barritskov smaller programs of education have been implemented. The programs have typically been on educating people in farming organically, cooking quality meals or teaching them about the idea of Aarstiderne. Some of these programs have been started on government subsidies some without. All of them are demanded to be able to “live” without subsidies after the start up period is over. “Live” in this case means contributing to the customer base, the work of farmers or the public opinion on the idea Aarstiderne.
In all the programs, emphasis is on teaching sustainability.
Also among the hired staff working with Aarstiderne, thinking of the environment has its impact on how we prioritise and what is put on the dinner table. Things start to happen when working with Aarstiderne.
All along the development Aarstiderne tried to be as transparent as possible. Instead of being afraid of competition the company has gained support and recognition in return for transparency, and instead of keeping knowledge to itself Aarstiderne has shared it and been inspired in return.
